The Hills have eyes!

Source: makeherup.com

wenn5176065.jpg

Fans of The Hills may be divided between Team Lauren and Team Heidi, but everyone concedes that Audrina Patridge ultimate hgh hgh product has some pretty amazing eyes.  Allure Magazine asked her to share her lining and shadowing tricks – totally unscripted – or so we think.

My eyes are hazel, but sometimes they’ll look more brown, amber, or green.  When my hair is dark, it brings out the green. (My hair is naturally dirty blonde.)

I love black eyeliner.  I put it on the inner rims of my lash lines, top and bottom.  If I want a more dramatic look, I’ll go back over the top lash line again just a tiny bit to darken it.  If I mess up, I’ll just smudge the line with my finger and put eye shadow over it.  At night, I’ll switch to green, violet, or blue liner, and make it thick on the top and winged out at the ends.  And I always stick to pencil – lately I’ve been loving Maybelline because I never have to touch it up.

For shadow, I use M.A.C. All That Glitters as the base and a dark brown or maroon right in the crease.  And mascara’s a must.  Too Faced Lash Injection

makes my lashes long and full.  When I go out, I add Benefit Gilded Highlighter on my brow bones.  It really makes your eyes stand out!

Hot Right Now: Yellow Eye Shadow

GET THE LOOK: “Bright primary colors are so in for clothes right now, but you should diffuse them for your makeup,” advises makeup artist Natalie DiStefano of the Rita Hazan Salon in NYC. “Easter yellow is too full force, distracting and unflattering,” says DiStefano, who recommends hues with shimmer to dilute the shade.

INSIDER TRICK: One word: Cream. “Straight yellow powder can look chalky, so look for a cream shadow you can easily spread and control,” adds DiStefano.

Christina Ricci’s beauty advice.

Source: makeherup.com

christina_ricci_bikini_sp_uhq98295238_2.jpg

Christina Ricci has a simple beauty philosophy: “I don’t think you should try to look like you’re not wearing makeup,” she has said. “What’s the point? You might as well put makeup on and have fun with it.” The edgy star has been in the public eye for almost all of her 28 years and isn’t afraid to go from goth to glam and back again.

“Her look is hard rock meets couture,” her hairstylist Richard Marin has said. “One day, she’s super funky; the next, she’s in a gown.” It’s no surprise then that Ricci recently braved a daring new haircut. As makeup artist Beth Katz has observed, “She’s very comfortable with herself.”

The beautiful Anna Friel in Red Magazine.

Source: makeherup.com

2udzsrd.jpg

I love Anna Friel, I think she’s beautiful – and amazingly talented.  You may recognize her from ABC’s Pushing Daisies.  I was enjoying that show when it first came out – but it got to the point where it was painful to watch.  Love her, but not enough to sit through that show!  (She looks a bit like Evangeline Lilly, no?)

Anna was recently interviewed by Red Magazine (I’ve never heard of them…but okay) and they asked her what her favorite beauty product was.

Make-up wise, I like the By Terry Foundation Stick - it’s like a Touche Eclat for the face. I use Dr. Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask once a week.  Also, I can’t live without Max Factor Erace Secret Cover-up, no eye bags!

Reese Witherspoon, as spokeswoman for Avon, pitches fund to combat violence against women.

Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon on Tuesday lent her star power to the UN global campaign to end violence against women, pitching a fund-raising drive by US cosmetics giant Avon for that purpose.

The 31-year-old US actress, who is Avon’s Global Ambassador to help promote women’s empowerment, voiced strong backing for a new long-term partnership between Avon and the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM).

“I strongly support the efforts of Avon and UNIFEM to put an end to” violence against women, she told reporters as she unveiled the “Women’s Empowerment Bracelet.”

“Every purchase of the bracelet will help empower women: 100 percent of the profits will go directly to the Avon Empowerment Fund to support UNIFEM in their work to end violence against women,” Witherspoon said.

“I hope to see this bracelet on the wrists of women all around the world as a sign of solidarity and hope that one day every woman will be empowered and live a life free from violence,” she added.

Witherspoon won an Oscar in 2006 for her portrayal of country music star June Carter Cash in “Walk The Line” and is reported to be one of the top three highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, commanding around 25 million dollars a picture.

Joining Witherspoon and UNIFEM Executive Director Joanne Sandler at the press conference, Avon Products chief executive officer Andrea Jung pledged that the Avon Foundation would match the first 500,000 dollars in sales of the new fund-raising bracelet.

She said the result would be a one-million-dollar donation from her company to the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women, which she described as “the largest corporate grant” ever made to the fund in a single year.

Avon, known for its “Avon Calling” door-to-door sales pitch, is the world’s top direct seller of beauty products.

“Violence against women is the hidden pandemic,” Sandler said. “It is hidden in the estimated 9.5 billion dollars that criminal networks earn from human trafficking, with the majority of those trafficked women and children.”

The three women spoke at a symposium to mark International Women’s Day, which will be celebrated worldwide Saturday.

Guess who’s creating her own make-up line?

Answer after the jump!

91842707.jpg

Amy Winehouse is launching her own brand of clothes and make-up so fans can copy her unique style.

The news emerged yesterday as Amy, 24, modelled the look — including a leopard-print scarf atop her matted barnet and cig stuck to her lip.

The range will include hairspray, but the signature piece is set to be the heavy liquid eyeliner the Rehab singer has made famous.

She has a meeting scheduled for later this week to discuss the project with fashion and cosmetics experts.

A pal revealed yesterday: “Amy’s style has been copied by girls around the country and there’s a lot of money to be made. It’s a very distinctive look.

“She wants to bring out a range of cosmetics and fashion products. There could be hairspray, head scarves, liquid eyeliner, perfume.

“All the things that are distinctive of her look.”

A fashion industry source added: “I think this stuff would sell very well in London.

“She has become a fashion icon despite not always looking too fresh.”

Self-harmer Amy, whose skimpy white vest revealed nasty scratches on her left arm, was on her way to visit hubby BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL, 25.

He is in London’s Pentonville jail awaiting trial for assault and trial-fixing.

Gisele Bundchen in March’s Harper’s Bazaar!

Source: makeherup.com

23841_1_122_519lo.jpg

They say Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen was discovered by talent scouts at the tender age of 14 while chowing down on burgers at McDonald’s. By 2006, Forbes had named her the highest-paid model in the business! Fresh and animated, with deep blue eyes, tawny skin and lithe, sinuous curves, she’s a modern-day enchantress. Here she is in a palette of sand, bronze and muted peach. Makeup artist Deborah Grayson tells us how to get her breezy, beachy look.

Step 1: Start with a clean, lightly moisturized face; allow the moisturizer to seep in for a few minutes before applying makeup.

Step 2: Using a damp sponge, apply a fine film of creamy (but not oily) stick foundation to any ruddy or blemished areas of the face, neck and shoulders.

Step 3: With your fingertips, dot a tiny bit of the same cream foundation onto the area just under the eyes, to hide any darkness or shadows you might have; blend in soft patting (not pulling) motions.

Step 4: Dip a flat, fan-shaped contour brush into loose flesh-toned translucent powder. Shake off any excess and apply the powder lightly to the cheeks. The powder will set a base for the contour, which you’ll apply in the next step.

Step 5: With the same fan-shaped contour brush, place a sandy, bronze blush to the apples of the cheeks, moving back toward the ears.

Step 6: In the same direction you applied the blush, repeat step 4, to “diffuse and evenly distribute your sandy bronze blush, creating a subtle circle of color,” says Grayson.

Step 7: Next, define the brows using an angled, hard-bristled liner brush dipped in blonde brow powder. If you don’t have a marked arch like Gisele’s and you’d like to create one, you might try experimenting with an eyebrow kit that contains stencils.

Step 8: Outline the eyes using a pointed eyeliner brush and opaque coffee brown cream liner. To emulate Gisele’s subdued look, trace a fine across the upper lash line, staying as close to the lashes as you can manage.

Step 9: With the same pointed brush and what remains of the coffee brown liner, apply it to the bottom third of the lower lash line; for a really subtle line, you don’t need to re-dip your brush.

Step 10: Use an oval-shaped eye shadow brush to place a crescent of russet brown shadow just at the outer edge of the eyelids.

Step 11: Next, use a cotton swab to apply an iridescent, pearly powder eye shadow just above the creases of each eye; blend back and forth in soft “windshield wiper” motions, allowing the powder to subtly disperse for a soft halolike effect.

Step 12: Apply two coats of medium brown mascara.

Step 13: Fill the entire lips with a fleshy nude liner pencil.

Step 14: Use a lip brush to apply a shiny, translucent peach-tinted gloss.

Enjoy!

Has Nicky Hilton finally gotten it right?

Here is a picture of Nicky Hilton today, at the Charlotte Ronson show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC.  And the first thought that popped in my head was, “Wow! I love her hair!”

In my opinion, Nicky has made some interesting hair choices.  (Who hasn’t?)
