As part of my whirlwind trip to NYC I was lucky enough to visit the Rita Hazan Salon and meet Rita herself. Besides being young and beautiful and wildly successful Rita is warm and open she seems more like your favorite local stylist than a hugely successful entrepreneur and colorist. While visiting Rita’s beautiful salon we even got a sneak a peek at her VIP room. (pictured above) Rita Hazan has styled so many celebs hair it would be easier to list the ones she hasn’t yet helped than the ones she has. Rita has created signature color looks for stars such as Jessica Simpson, Jaime Pressly, Debra Messing, Michelle Williams, Ellen Pompeo, Rachel Weisz and Renee Zellweger.
Rita owns and operates her signature salon, a 6,000 sq ft. full service beauty mecca located at 720 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Rita maintains a loyal client following that will even fly Rita to meet them on location because they refuse to have anyone else touch their color.
A mix of rock and roll and 1940’s glamour inspires Rita’s color choices. “The most important factor is their personality,” says Rita. “You don’t want your hair to ‘wear’ you - you want to wear your hair and have hair that compliments your skin, your eyes- hair that really reflects who you are.”
